Please Note: The following article is about my personal views. I don’t expect you to agree, but to read with an open mind. I’m not preaching nor do I want you to think I’m trying to persuade you into agreeing with me. This article is for you to see where I’m coming from, so you can understand my logic behind what I believe. It’s perfectly fine to disagree with me, I always welcome respectful debate.

I feel that I need to express my opinion on guns and the second amendment (the right to bear arms). Many people are scared of guns because they see news stories about innocent people getting shot. I understand the concern because guns are not toys and they make it a lot easier for a crazy guy to kill innocent people. But what many people seem to forget is why we have the second amendment. The second amendment was written to allow the citizens of the U.S to be able to fight back a corrupt government. Basically, if the government tries to forcibly control your life, you have the power to put up a fight. This amendment also allows people to effectively revolt against the government, if it gets that bad. I personally agree with this amendment and these are the reasons why I feel that it is vital to keep.

1. Corrupt governments seizing an infinite amount of power. If a corrupt government takes away your ability to own guns, they take away your power to revolt and to protect yourself and your family. When this happens, the government can then start to do things to suppress the population and gain more and more power. Many people think that our government would never kill its own citizens. How could that happen? We’re America and our government would never do such a thing. Keep in mind I’m not referring to any specific administration or president, I am referring to the government as a whole, now and in the future; our future. When people tell me that our government would never kill it own citizens, I tell them “that’s exactly what the people supporting hitler thought”. I’m not comparing our government to Hitler’s rein, I’m just pointing out that it’s possible that something like this can happen. This has happened in history over and over again. The mass population support a leader that they think is going to do good for the country. The leader slowly gains more and more power by taking away peoples rights. And then, eventually, the person in power can kill off an entire group of citizens without the masses knowing about it. Sound familiar? Yes, I’m referring to the holocaust.
2. “World Peace” is not obtainable by banning weapons. A lot of people tell me that the world would be a better place without weapons, and I agree. But in reality, someone will always have a weapon. There is a dark side to human nature which gives us the drive to be as powerful as we can be. I’m not saying that all people have a thirst for blood. But I am saying that ridding the citizen population of guns allows bad people to be in power because then they are the only ones with guns. If you look at the world today, our country is rarely attacked on our soil. Why? Because we have powerful weapons and other countries know that we will put up a fight. In a way, obtaining powerful weapons, in a non-corrupt government, actually preserves the peace.
3. A world where everyone owns a gun might be safer than our world today. Think about a society, except instead of no guns, everyone owns a gun. The laws allow people to carry them with them as they go about their daily lives. You’d probably think “Oh my GOD! the crime rate would shoot up (no pun intended) and people would be getting shot everyday “. Now try and open your mind to this possibility. If you were a murderer in this society, and you knew everyone had a gun, would you risk trying to shoot someone? Or would you think twice about it because you know that after you fire the first round you’ll be shot at. Really think about this. The risks a lot higher for you now because you know that no body is defenseless. So why put your own life in danger? Most people wouldn’t take the risk. I’m not saying that there will be no crime and everyone will live happily ever after. Instead I’m suggesting that innocent people, most people, would carry their guns responsibly. And they’d feel safer because they know that they can defend themselves.

So those are my beliefs about the second amendment and guns. Again, my intention for this article was to let people go into to my mind and know what I believe in. This is not an article written to persuade you into thinking differently than you do now. If you read this whole thing, thanks you for spending your time to learn more about me. I really appreciate those who have the willingness to learn and hear other perspectives with an open mind.

Hey guys! So I just finished my new song “Wake Up (they’re Calling Us)” or just “Wake Up” for short. I’ve been working on the song for a ling time. I started recording it about a year ago but recently I’ve added more vocals and effects to add a lot more depth the song. Also an independent film company wants to use the song for a woman’s rights movie! The song can be about any social or political issue because the lyrics are vague enough to not solo anything out. No matter what your beliefs are, you will be able to connect to this song. I originally wrote this in a more “in your face” tone but I felt that the lyrics didn’t mirror my true personality. At the time of writing this song I’ve just finished arguing with a friend of mine about politics. And although I tried to see his point of view, he’d never listened to mine. That’s when I lost it because I can’t stand it when people don’t respect my point of view. I don’t expect everyone to share the same beliefs that I do, that would be naive. But I do expect to be able to engage in a respectful debate instead of an anger driven argument. However I’m beginning to think even that is a naive expectation. Which is really sad because it’s becoming harder and harder to talk to people about politics without it becoming personal.

Anyway, the song “Wake Up” will be released shortly and, of course, I’m going to be making a music video for it. My dad and I have been discussing the idea of doing it on a rooftop with a band behind me. The band and I would be performing to people on the ground below. Another idea is that we hook up the projector to a car and we drive around town while projecting the image of me singing on the surfaces of the town. Which would look pretty cool. I’m really excited about this song and eager to find out what people think. So look for it on iTunes, YouTube or on this website soon. Share it with your friends and tell me what you think! It’s summer! Which means I have a lot more time to write more music, film more videos and keep you up to date on my music. Over the past year or so I’ve only released 3 songs (not much for a year). Well this summer I plan on getting more music out including videos and hopefully more gigs. So, like it or not, you’ll be seeing more of me. Yes, some of my songs are going to political, but I’m also have many other non-political songs in works to balance it out. After all I’m still a 15 year old, meaning I’m worried about my grades next year, whether I’ll get a girlfriend, excited to play airsoft and I’m anxiously waiting for the next season of Modern Family. But besides that stuff I also want to share my music with all of you. And nothing makes me happier than to see you enjoy listening to my music!

I’m adding some stuff to my song “Wake Up” (which might get a name change) like a new melody to fill the gaps in my chorus and some more background vocals. I’m also writing a song witch is currently titled “When I See You”, this title is not final because the song is still early in the writing process. I’m also going to start recording a 2 minute video everyday. This will be like a video diary. I’m pretty open so I’ll tell you about how I’m feeling, what I’m working on and what’s on my mind. Remember Germany is a song that compares the holocaust to modern day Israel. The holocaust was a terrible occurrence which “should never happen again”. What’s currently happening now in Israel seems to be leading toward another holocaust. In the middle-east multiple countries are releasing maps with no Israel; meaning they, literally, want to wipe Israel off the face of the earth. Based on current events, it’s believed that Iran is building a nuclear bomb! Iran has evaded any search team we send them. They’re also refining uranium to a percentage that isn’t necessary for nuclear power plants. This has really been troubling because if they succeed they will go right after Israel; which is one of America’s closest allies.

The first half of the song is dedicated to the holocaust. It’s about finding a diary of a relative that was a victim of the holocaust. As the diary is read, it reveals information about his life and the holocaust. The second half of the song deals with present time and modern day Israel. Now to fully understand what the song is referring to you have to do research on the holocaust and what’s happening in the middle-east. I highly recommend you watching the movie Obsession, which is a documentary on what’s happening in the middle east. Don’t trust everything I’m telling you, go out and research it yourself.
